Baz Moffat
Baz was a newcomer to the GB senior team in 2006, she raced in the eight in the 2007 World Cup series, always reaching the A Final and finishing 2nd, 5th and 4th. Recently she won a bronze medal in the eight at the 2007 World Rowing Championships. She raced in the pair at the 2008 World Cup in Munich.
Baz took up rowing at the age of 22 when she moved to London after leaving university, wanting to try a new sport and meet new people.
While studying for a Masters at the University of Bristol, which has links with the Tasmanian Institute of Sport, she spent nine months in Tasmania where she learned to scull and competed in the Australian Championships.
During the 2006 World Cup, she came 6th with the eight in Munich, then took a Bronze in Poznan and finished off in Lucerne winning the B Final.
Baz rowed in the women's pair at the 2006 World Championships at Eton and finished 11th.
A talented high jumper as a junior – she competed for Yorkshire and the North of England – Baz has a first class honours degree in Sports Science from Birmingham University and an MSc in Health and Exercise Science from the University of Bristol.
Baz is Lottery Funded through UK Sport.
