Ben Smith

Ben has already represented Great Britain at both junior and U23 levels, including finishing 11th in the single scull event at the 2007 World U23 Championships.

Ben was a member of the winning Oxford University Blue Boat in the 2008 Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race. He is currently studying Management there.

Ben started rowing at the Dragon School at the age of nine, but he credits his coach at St Edward's School, Nathan Williams, with inspiring him to excel at rowing. At the World Junior Rowing Championships in 2003, Ben came 9th in the men's pair event.

Ben graduated from Imperial College in Material Science and Management. While there, he was a member of the Imperial College Boat Club crew, which won the Prince Albert Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta in 2006.

In his spare time, Ben plays squash and golf and he plans to travel.
