Georgina sailed and played netball for Nottingham University but soon joined the boat club when she realised they had the upper hand on the River Trent. With long spells abroad pursuing her degree in Modern Languages, Georgina was able only to focus on rowing after she moved to London and joined Mortlake Anglian & Alpha Boat Club in 2003.
Besides three successful Women's Henley medals in the four, pair and single. She also won gold for England at the 2006 Commonwealth Rowing Championships in the women's double scull.
Georgina graduated with a MA in International Relations in 2003 and was happily employed and supported by Nigel Burgess whilst trying to break into the GB Senior Squad. She speaks fluent French and Spanish as well as some Italian which has come in handy at the squad's training camps abroad. She's immensely excited and proud to be rowing for GB in such a successful programme.
