Jacqui Round

Jacqui has represented GB at both Junior and U23 level. In 2006 she raced in the women's pair at the U23 World Championships finishing 7th and in 2005 she won a bronze medal in the women's quad at the Junior World Championships.

In 2007 she was selected for the GB squad that raced at the 2007 Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney, Australia, where she won two gold medals in the four and the eight.

She started rowing at the age of 10 at St Neots Rowing Club under the guidance of Martyn Rooney, because she lived very close to the river and thought she would try it. Between 2001 and 2005 she won 11 gold and silver medals at the National Schools Regatta and the National Championships and won the junior quad event at Women's Henley Regatta.

Although Jacqui is currently studying Sport Development and Fitness at South Nottingham College, she plans to begin a course in Sport, Leisure, Psychology and Education at Nottingham Trent University in September.

Jacqui's biggest ambition outside rowing is to take part in Camp USA, a scheme which would give her the opportunity to coach youngsters in America. This follows in part from previous work she has done coaching juniors at her local rowing club.

In the future she would like to become a primary school teacher.
