Mathilde Pauls

Mathilde won a silver medal in the lightweight quad at the 2007 World Rowing Championships. She finished 3rd in the GB Rowing Senior Trials in Belgium in the lightweight women's single in her first year of trying for GB selection. She came 7th in the lightweight quad at the World Cup in Amsterdam. She raced in the single scull at the 2008 World Cup in Munich finishing 4th.

She qualified for British Citizenship in 2007, having successfully represented Germany at rowing at U23 level until 2005.

Mathilde started rowing at Westminster School in 2001 in a pair. She graduated from Cambridge in 2005 having finished the pre–clinical part of her medicine course, moving to London to start her clinical studies at Imperial College London.

In 2006 she won the lightweight single at Henley Women's Regatta.

She is currently working part time so that she can focus on her rowing.

Mathilde is Lottery Funded through UK Sport.
