Tom Solesbury
Tom was selected for the Men's pair in the Beijing Olympic Games 2008 and finished 13th.
A newcomer to the GB senior rowing squad in 2005, Tom won a bronze medal in the eight at the 2007 World Rowing Championships. He finished 9th in the men's pair at the World Cup Regatta in Amsterdam and 4th in the men's eight at the World Cup in Lucerne. He raced in the eight in the 2008 World Cup series finishing 2nd and 3rd.
Tom took up rowing at Warwick University to try and beat his brother, who had started rowing two years previously while at the University of Bath. He continued to row at Mortlake Anglian & Alpha Rowing Club while at Law School in London and during his two year training contract as a solicitor. Having qualified, he moved to Molesey Boat Club.
Tom represented Great Britain in the Canal Cup in Germany in 2005 and finished 4th in the men's pair at the 2006 GB Rowing Senior Trials.
2006 saw further strong results with a 5th place in the eight in the Munich World Cup and a 6th place in Lucerne.
He won his first GB vest as part of the British men's eight which finished 5th in the final of the 2006 World Championships at Eton.
While at Ravenswood School, Tom won the Kent Cup for rugby and football and he is a season ticket holder at Crystal Palace FC.
