Dry Instructor
The Dry Instructor's (DI) Award focuses on producing a competent coach who can promote the benefits and pleasure of rowing through quality coaching and appropriate skill acquisition on the indoor rowing machine.
More formally, a DI coach is qualified to "organise a group safely on the land and deliver sessions using the Indoor Rowing Machine."
The course is particularly suitable for newcomers to rowing or to coaching such as teachers and gym instructors. However, experienced rowing coaches looking to gain more information about suitable skills and drills for indoor sessions and basic maintenance of indoor rowing machines will also benefit. The course is also recommended for Community Sports Leader Award (CSLA) graduates who along with Junior Rowing Leaders Award (JRLA) graduates will find that they have already covered many of the modules.
This course will continue to run until the new Level 1 and Level 2 Indoor Rowing Coaching certificates are fully available. For more information contact the Coaching Secretary
