GB Rowing High Performance Coaches (Olympic Programme 2009-12)

GB Rowing is looking for two High Performance Coaches to work inside its Olympic Programme and to deliver success at the London Games in 2012.

The successful candidates will work closely with the Performance Director and Chief Coaches in coaching Olympic Squad rowers.  They will work from the GB Rowing Centre at Caversham and the EIS Centre at Bisham Abbey, Marlow.  One will be assigned to the men’s squad, the other to the women’s / lightweights squad.

GB Rowing Boatman

GB Rowing is seeking to appoint an experienced full time boatman to work with the GB Rowing squads based at the National Training Centre at Caversham.

The purpose of this post is to provide first class logistical support for the GB Rowing teams as well as working as part of the facilities team.

Head Rowing Coach - Queen's University Belfast

Salary: Stg £23,002 - £29,139 per annum (including contribution points) dependent on skills and experience.

Queen’s University Belfast will soon be advertising for a full-time coach with a proven track record of high performance rowing. This is a new position which is anticipated to commence in October 2008.

Paralympic programme: Lead Coach for Adaptive boats

GB Rowing is looking for a Lead Coach to take its Adaptive Programme forward to the Paralympic Games in London 2012, after the Beijing Games.

This squad has seen good success on the international stage and has brought home three World Championship gold medals in the past two years. Rowing became a Paralympic sport in May 2005 and will be competing for the first time at the Paralympics in Beijing having qualified all four racing boats.

The ARA is committed to high quality coach education and development.  Our aim is to have more competent and active coaches within our sport by 2009.  We cannot do this without Coach Educators to support the delivery of our coaching award scheme at a local level to ensure courses are accessible to all.

Coach Educators

The ARA is committed to high quality coach education and development. Our aim is to have more competent and active coaches within our sport by 2009. We cannot do this without Coach Educators to support the delivery of our coaching award scheme at a local level to ensure courses are accessible for all.

To support this aim the ARA has become an endorsed centre to run the Certificate in Tutoring Sport (CTS) and Introduction to Assessment Practices in Sport (IAPS) and plans to run three courses a year to strengthen its current Coach Education Team.
