How to join or renew?
There are several types of ARA membership available. To find out more about the different categories and to choose the right one for you go to types of membership.
Online is the quickest way to join or renew but you can also use fax or post, except for Indoor Rowing which is only available online. If you would like to fax or post your application go to Membership Forms to download the form.
Creating an Online Account
All members have an individual record on the ARA database and every record has a personal online account attached to it. Once you have activated your online account you can:
- take out first-time membership
- renew your membership
- view your personal details, including your ARA number
- update your club(s)
For more information on how to join the ARA online, follow our step-by-step guide.
If you have any queries or concern about how the ARA stores or uses such data please contact membership@ara-rowing.org
Clubs on Your Record
You can be a member of, and compete for, as many clubs as you wish. There is no priority of order, you will be listed for all the clubs on your record. If your club is making online competition entries on your behalf you must have that club on your ARA record. We can hold up to three clubs on your ARA record, the first of which will be printed on your licence.
Under 16 Protection
When a child applies for an online account we:
- ask for the parent/guardian's permission
- only ask for the minimum amount of information we need to authorise the account
- delete the contact information if we don't receive permission
- delete the contact information if 14 days pass without action
If you would like more information about the ARA Safeguarding and Protecting Children Policy see our Welfare section.
