Here are some of the benefits of joining the ARA, either as a competitive or a non-racing member.

Civil Liability (Third Party Cover)
Our civil liability protection scheme covers all individual registered members whilst taking part in any activity of the Association. Read more.
Personal Accident Insurance
Membership also gives all individual members (except those over 75 years) personal accident insurance whilst taking part in rowing. Read more.

Membership Card
On joining the ARA you will be sent a membership card. This is also your racing licence, if appropriate, proving your eligibility to compete in ARA events. This must be renewed annually and all competitors must take their racing licence to ARA competitions.
Rowing & Regatta Magazine
Rowing & Regatta is the magazine of the ARA and includes a wide range of articles about the many different aspects of rowing; from technique to coaching, recreational rowing to international competition. It is published ten times a year and is free to all members (excluding Indoor Rowing members). With the Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race edition all members also receive a complimentary programme worth £3.00.
RowHow
RowHow is the ARA's new online learning system. This will carry interactive online courses on a variety of topics from coaching to coxing; umpiring to volunteering; water safety to trailer-driving. RowHow uses a combination of videos, interactive activities and resources to allow you to learn new skills online.
British Rowing Almanack
The Almanack and ARA Year Book is published annually. Discounted and pre-publication rates are available to ARA members who apply before January 31st.
River & Rowing Museum
ARA members are eligible for a 50% discount on entry into the River & Rowing Museum in Henley.
