Types of Memberships
ARA membership is offered on an annual basis only (excluding Life Membership). ARA membership is non-refundable. The benefits available with each type of membership vary slightly as summarised in the table below.

Student Membership
Student membership is available to any student in full-time education. The maximum number of years allowed for the discounted student membership is five. Some students will still be eligible by age to purchase Junior membership (see Junior below). Please note that Captains of university clubs will be routinely contacted to confirm eligibility of all individuals on their club member list.
Junior Membership
Junior membership is available to anyone under the age of 18 on the 1st January of the year of application. This does not preclude you from being a student at University/College and selecting your University/College rowing club.
In 2008 individuals born in 1990 - 1993 (inclusive) should register as a Junior at £20.
Under 14s Membership
Under 14s membership is available to anyone under the age of 14 on the 1st January of the year of application. In 2008 this means born 1994 or later.
*To encourage young people into the sport, we are pleased to advise the first year of this category is offered free.
Life Membership
Life membership is available to those over 18. In addition to the benefits above you will also receive an ARA tie/scarf and Life Member's pin badge.
