RoSPA Review 2008

The ARA welcomes this review of the water safety arrangements in the sport of rowing and is grateful to RoSPA and the authors for the considerable amount of work that has been put into compiling this comprehensive document.

At a time when the ARA is developing its water safety strategy it is reassuring that the conclusions and recommendations are predominantly in line with approaches being taken and reflected in the 'Row Safe – Guide to Safe Practice in Rowing' due to replace the 2003 Water Safety Code later this year.

The ARA will be considering carefully the useful detail within the body of the Review as well as its conclusions and recommendations.
