York Small Boats Head Report

Last Sunday saw a number of Tees Rowing Club crews compete at York Small Boats Head. This race allows the club a chance to race in smaller boats mostly doubles and singles. The race was rowed over a three kilometre course in very cold wintery conditions.

Yorkshire Junior Scullers Camp 2008

The Yorkshire Region held its annual sculling camp over the weekend of 15 - 16th November 2008. The camp is supported by the Henley Stewards Charitable Trust and was organised by the regional Coaching Commissioner, Anne Homa, and the regional Junior Commissioner, Dan Clarke. It was also supported by the ARA's Coaching and Development Team in Yorkshire.

Fortunately both days were blessed with good weather and the river conditions were excellent. The River Ouse had initially given some cause for concern as it had been in flood at the start of the week.

Success for Bradford ARC at North of England Sprints

Bradford Amateur Rowing Club saw its largest ever entry at an away regatta last weekend at the North of England sprint Rowing Championships held at Hollingworth Lake on 30th August 2008.

With seven wins from 25 entries, and many more creditable perofrmances, the Club narrowly missed out on the senior Victor Ludorum to Liverpool Victoria by three points. The day was a fantastic end to a packed summer's racing and bodes well for an equally busy winter.
