The ARA&#039;s fifteenth annual rowing tour is underway on the River Severn.  Starting in Stourport on Thursday 28th August the rowers will cover a distance of just over 70km in three days.  This year they&#039;ll be passing through Worcester and Tewkesbury, stopping for picnic lunches along the way, before they finish up in Gloucester.

 <title>Upton Rowing Club Acquire New Recreational Boats</title>
 <link>http://www.ara-rowing.org/news/upton-rowing-club-acquire-new-recreational-boats</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;
&lt;img src=&quot;/files/images/UptonRCboatnaming.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;Upton Town Boat Naming&quot; title=&quot;Upton Town Boat Naming&quot; class=&quot;wsl, wsb&quot; align=&quot;right&quot; height=&quot;248&quot; width=&quot;270&quot; /&gt;Following grant aid
from the ARA CCDP Portfolio, Upton Rowing Club has recently acquired
two new C4 rowing boats. C4 boats are stable, but light,
made by Burgashell and available in a coxed
quadruple scull which is convertible to coxed (sweep) four. The
rigging and seating is the same as a racing rig, but the
stable hull allows those new to rowing to develop technique
without having to worry about balance.
